Item description: * See scan – very good condition for this rare authentic signed document. Almost intact condition with some extremely small tears at left part of the sheet but the text itself and the original bold fountain pen signature / autograph are perfect and very fresh. This is a 26.01.1942 letter sent from the NAZI German aviation pilot ace Gunther Lutzow as as Oberstleutnant u. Geschwaderkommodore Jagdgeschwader "Gen. Oberst Udet" to his close friend and allied Bulgarian aviation pilot ace Stoyan Stoyanov / Stoianov (18 kills). Günther Lützow was also awarded the Knight Cross / Iron Cross with oakleaves and swords, as well as documents state that he was also awarded the German Luftwaffe Pilot badge in gold and diamonds, as well as the Frontflugspange in gold. Gunther Lutzow was born in September 4, 1912 in the German town of Kiel. He became an ace when he downed five enemy aircrafts during the Spanish Civil War and he went on to achieve a total of at least 108 kills – two of which were made while flying the new ME262 jet. When Adolph Galland put together history’s most elite fighter squadron, Lutzow joined the such as Barkhorn, Krupinski Steinhoff, etc. in the new JV-44. On the morning of April 24, 1945 Lutzow downed a Marauder bomber near Augsburg. That afternoon he flew his last mission near Donauwoerth in allied territory. His actual faith remains unknown, because neither his aircraft nor his body was ever found. He is considered to be Killed in Action KIA. Absolutely scarce militaria / military collector piece and one of the rarest NAZI German autographs of famous people.
