Item description: * See scan – absolutely perfect condition. This is an important set of Imperial Russian gold, guilloche enamel and diamonds pair of cufflinks / cuffs. The enamel is absolutely intact and is a great pale purple color guilloche over solid gold with wave like sunrays engraved base starting from each diamond. At the center of each cuff there is an about 0.2 brilliant cut diamond gemstone set in white gold. Both cufflinks weigh about 13 grams of solid 14 karat gold with Russian gold hallmark 56 and have a total of about 0.4 carats of diamonds. The pair was made in St. Petersburg by one of the most famous Russian Royal jewelers – Pavel Sazikov or Paul Sazikov sometimes between 1896 and 1908. Only Sazikov and Karl Faberge from St. Petersburg were the 2 jewelry maker masters allowed to make jewels for the Royal Palace, Emperror / King and Royal Family with a special decree. Each cufflink at its clasp has a struck hallmark PS in Russian for assay master Pavel Sazikov, as well as a special mark at the base of each piece resembling the portrait bust of Emperor Nicholas II. It is possible that the pair was made for presentation purposes for the Romanov Royal Family. Scarce and rare collector set and one of the important and rare Imperial Russian gold jewelry.
